"The weekend was great! The arrangements were more than was expected. When I was authorized to attend, I received a phone call right away. I felt important and you made me feel like I was the only one who existed. The Amvets Post 2 had the best customer service. I
can’t thank them enough. I have never experienced such great hospitality. The Zogg's bar and grill was amazing. The great thing is I just showed up and didn’t have to worry about anything. Words can’t express how grateful I am. My family and I thank you so much. On a
scale of 1-10, this is a 10+. I appreciate you all."

"We had so much fun! The hotel is a great venue for us because – free easy parking, hotel right on the boardwalk, walking distance to restaurants, awesome pool/spa and also the birds in the lobby. The food in Rehoboth was mostly deep fried. The best food we ate was at the Amvets Post 2. The sponsors and local veterans were the best part of the trip. They made us feel so welcomed. Karen was awesome and funny. The Amvets were so nice and the invitation to the karaoke night was the best!! We had so much fun. Thank you for the food, lodging and gift cards, so much more than expected and greatly expected. One comment for future events: an informal get together the first morning would be nice to get to know each other and allow is to do things together if we want to. Even we are al from the SRU, we don’t know each other. Other than that, keep doing what you are doing and thank you sponsors and the local veterans."

"Warrior Weekend was truly an incredible experience. The hotel was in a perfect location and felt so comfortable – it really set the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Dinner at the Amvets was such a highlight. The food was absolutely delicious, but made it even more special was the atmosphere. We had a chance to meet so many amazing people, and everyone was so welcoming and friendly – it felt like an instant community. Lunch at the restaurant was just as impressive and friendly, with huge portions that left us completely full and satisfied. One of the surprises was being invited to the American Legion Post for karaoke night. We had such a carefree and fun time – these are the kind of moments that really stick with you. I honestly don’t mind not having a packed schedule of events. It gave me the freedom to truly enjoy quality time with my kids at our own pace while still connecting with the group during meals and shared moments. That balance made the weekend even more meaningful. We spent time on the beach and boardwalk, just soaking it all in and making memories together. And the gift cards to Lefty’s were such a fun bonus – we had an absolute blast there! I genuinely had a hard time getting the kids to leave because we were all having so much fun. Overall, it was the perfect mix of relaxation, connection and joy. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to step away from everyday life, be fully present with my family, and simply enjoy ourselves. It was a weekend I’ll truly cherish. Thank you so much!!"

"The hotel was perfect; there were no issues. The boat tour was my favorite part and I Iike that sandwiches were provided.  I loved this town and the things it had to offer. I also loved that everything was basically in walking distance.  I like how you guys also gave us time to ourselves to do as we pleased so we didn’t feel smothered the entire time.  I also loved the ice cream! The restaurants were amazing.  All the people I encountered over this weekend were so welcoming.  If I had to add anything (which I wouldn’t) it would be a beach day which would also give more opportunities for photos.  I also really appreciate the money for gas and tolls.  Thank you for this get away, it was much needed"

I really enjoyed this Warrior Weekend Trip.  The hotel accommodations were great and very comfortable.  The food throughout the weekend was excellent!  The itinerary felt well organized while still enough flexibility to relax and enjoy the weekend.  Overall, it was a very positive experience.  I appreciate the effort that went into planning everything.  Thank you for providing such a great opportunity for us soldiers from Walter Reed to get away and recharge.

"It was a restful weekend.  The activities were appropriate for the audience.  My only critique would be for the people without a way to travel to the area.  I was able to bypass the issue with a wife that could cone and stay with me full time, but between the TBI and vision loss in both eyes, driving wouldn’t be an option.  Overall, I don’t have any changes for the weekend.  The number of activities were right along with the actual activities themselves."

"The hotel arrangements are fantastic.  There is an arcade, food, theater and gift shops at an arm’s length away.  The balconies were a breathtaking touch with the view.  Very serene, calming and I could see the sun rise and sunset and it was really a nice touch.  The gym and the pool were fantastic.  The food at the restaurants was very tasty and I like the convenience of the locations.  The itinerary was nice.  I would suggest other weather friendly options.  I would add the cool places that are nearby like shopping fun and Chincoteague gems. Flexibility was great.  The time for dinner was a good time slot. Maybe have some games such as playing cards. Checkers, etc. in case people do decide to stay in their rooms.  I wouldn’t suggest scheduled activities per say but one or two isn’t a bad example.  The scheduled boat tour was great and the scheduled drives were great.  Overall, I loved it.  I am greatly satisfied.  The trip was very relaxing. Thank you all so much.  The drive was beautiful and I feel like it added to the overall experience as well."

"The hotel was in a fantastic location.  It was surrounded by so many places to explore. The itinerary was well thought out and provided the perfect balance of planned activities and free time. The food throughout the weekend was outstanding.  MY family and I generally enjoyed every meal we had throughout the stay. Overall, our experience was excellent. Scott and Joe did a remarkable job making everyone feel like family from the moment we arrived. My kids especially enjoyed all the activities in and around the hotel.  Even though the hotel didn’t have a pool, they had so much fun exploring and participating in everything that was planned that they completely forgot about the pool.  Scott and Joe did a great job keeping everyone engaged, creating memorable experiences and making sure we had the opportunity to get out and enjoy the city. We truly had a wonderful weekend and are grateful for all the effort that went into making it such a special experience."

"The weekend of June 4th to 6th was the best I have had in a long time.  I felt like family.  This is a part of resiliency the military needs. The hospitality was beyond my expectations.  This experience opened my eyes to a new world.  This has encouraged myself and my family to volunteer and give back more. Thank you for the experience and your time."

"The weekend was absolutely amazing!! We had a blast and everything
was accessible.  The room was great; no complaints and the breakfast was very good too!  This was a great opportunity and I am super grateful I was able to bring my brothers so they could see new things and experience something other than Kansas.  Thank you so much for that!  I had a blast getting to know the other service members and especially the hosts. The military community can be quite hard at times, so it is really great to feel like a part of a family.  That meant a lot to me. I appreciate this weekend so very much.  Thank you again."

"Staff Sergeant Nash’s son made these comments.
The hotel arrangements were nice.  I like the ability to roam around the city and see what’s around the area.  It was a lovely time and the food was really good.  The time I had to spend with my dad was nice.  I will never forget this experience.  Thank you all for having us.

Thank you very much for putting this event on.  Both me and John had a great time and we enjoyed the event a lot and I got to spend so much time with him wondering around the city and we had an amazing time.  What an amazing time with the NFL guys and never imagined getting the gift of a helmet that was such a huge thing.  Thanks again. Joe was a fun guy, thanks to you and everyone.  It will be a trip not to be forgotten."

"First off, I would love to be around you guys more. The overall experience was 11 out of 10 from the food to the park. I am happy you guys do stuff like this for soldiers that feel there is no positive anymore.  With my family not coming for the weekend, you guys filled the shoes as my family. I was indeed sad but it didn’t last long with your get-away.  I also made new friend named Steven.  I wish I could come to anything you guys have. I will forever thank you.  I still didn’t find my hat. Note:  Corporal Talbert lost his new hat on one of the rides in the amusement park."

"I honestly can’t think of any recommended changes to these weekends.  All was handled from beginning to end.  Everything was thought and planned perfectly to make it easy and worry free for soldiers and families.  This Warrior Weekend event was truly an incredible and meaningful experience! I am so happy I was able to bring my dad and have him meet Mr. Scott, Ms. Kelly, Mr. Garth and Ms. Donna.  Moments like this remind us how important it is to step away, recharge and be surrounded by positive people who truly care. We are extremely grateful for everyone involved in making this weekend possible.  Thank you for giving us an environment where we could unwind, laugh, and create lasting memories.  This experience will stay with us and we appreciate everything that was done to make it happen."

"It was great to have the flexibility to come late since we could not come on Thursday for the whole weekend.  The dInner was great – the Mill is a very nice restaurant with good food.  The hotel was nice and a great breakfast.  Could one day be scheduled for the Chocolate World or the Hershey Museum. Overall, this is a great program, and I will ensure that the Army SRU (Soldier Recovery Unit) activities director knows. Thank you so much for a great weekend."

"On behalf of my family, I would like to sincerely thank you for this opportunity to share a special moment together.  This gift was more than we could have imagined.  As a soldier with over 25 years of service, truly felt the love, support and appreciation shown throughout the weekend.  The hotel, meals, and overall itinerary were excellent, and the balance of activities and the flexibility made the experience enjoyable and comfortable for our family.  The staff and volunteers were welcoming, respectful and attentive, and we did not experience anything that made us uncomfortable.  Overall, this weekend was a blessing, and we are deeply grateful for the kindness and generosity shown to the soldiers and their families.  Thank you for creating memories that we will never forget."
