Comments from the Trip to Melissa's Bed & Breadfast
April 20th, 21st and 22nd
SFC Jim Gloss and wife, Lucy

"First and foremost, on behalf of all wounded soldiers, I would like to say thank you for a beautiful getaway and excellent event.  My wife and I would lie to participate in future activities and getaways.  The bed and breakfast was beautiful and relaxing.  During this trip, I was able to reconnect with my wife and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and relaxing atmosphere.  Had I not been on this trip, I would have tayed inside my room, afraid to come out and depressed behind four walls.  Once again, thank you for the opportunity to partake in this event."

SPC Kentrell Hill

"The trip was very enjoyable and relaxing.  The trip took my mind off some stressful things.  It provided me the opportunity to get out and meet others who have also served and are going thru what I am going thru."

SPC Jade Watts

"The weekend was a truly relaxing experience.  Melissa, the owner of the bed and breakfast was truly amazing.  This was really a trip to remember and I thank you for having it."

LTC Marilyn Georges

"Thank you for your kindness and I am very thankful.  I would like to say that Melissa at the bed and breakfast was a perfect host.  Her attention to detail is unmatched by any that I have see.  Thank you for going out of  your way.  As wounded warriors during this precious time in our lives, we really need this kind of love and care.  Please not Lenny, Jim, Ed and Bob were perfect hosts.  They made us laugh when we needed a laugh.  Thanks again."

SPC Megan Nicodemus

"What a great, great weekend!!!  Everyone was very nice and gracious to us wounded warriors.  I would have liked to spend a little more time at the American Legion, but we did what the majority of the folks wanted to do.  It was a great weekend, very relaxing and very much appreciated.  Hope to be on another Warrior Weekend trip again soon."

Comments from the Weekend at the Inner Harbor, Baltimore, MD
May 11th, 12th and 13th
SSG Joseph Hamilton

"The best weekend we ever had.  The chance to get away with my wife was amazing.  The hotel and the area around the hotel were equally amazing.  What really made the trip were the volunteers (drivers) Chuck and Bob and their wives were just fantastic. We had such a great time.  The whole weekend was laid back and no pressure.  In short, it was exactly what we needed. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.  It really does make a difference."
SFC Robert Sweeney

"I have to say thank you all for taking care of us GIs this weekend.  I never stay in nice hotels, only inexpensive ones.  You guys made my weekend away from the medical unit very special and relaxing.  Thank you."

CW4 Roosevelt Holliman

"We feel the trip was enjoyable.  The personnel from your program did an outstanding job on the trip.  They were friendly and gave us options on places to go and things to do.  We really relaxed and enjoyed the trip and are looking forward to the next one.  Thanks a lot for an excellent time."

SPC Frank Ristow

"Goodness, this was a wonderful, relaxing and exciting trip for me.  Upon arrival at the nice hotel on Friday to the Orioles game to the Sunday morning sunshine on the water.  I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  Chuck and Bill are great hosts and great people.  I hope to see them again.  Thank you so much, all of you, for supporting us.  We so appreciate you."
Janet Demuhra

"The Warrior Weekend at the Inner Harbor was fun and I really enjoyed myself spending time with my family and fellow warriors.  The flexibility of the schedule was very convenient and I enjoyed being able to suggest what I wanted to do and eat.  I appreciate the host being kind and ensuring that our stay was comfortable and worry free.  This weekend was a fun filled event and I look forward to being a part of more trips in the future.  Thank you very much for what you do."

"Thanks for everything you guys did for us this weekend.  I think that we and the soldiers returning from the war need this kind of activity so we can integrate once again back into the society.  Everything was great."

CPL Ryan Berger

"Absolutely outstanding!!  I had a great time getting to know you guys.  Everything was greatly appreciated and I look forward to keeping in contact and hopefully making my way to see you again with my girl, Alicia (currently serving in Afghanistan).  She would have loved this."
SFC Pamela Veney

Comments from the Weekend at Hudson Valley in Kingston, NY
October 5th, 6th and 7th
SFC Pamela Veney

"This has been the best weekend I have ever encountered with the citizens that have shown so much unconditional love.  The people here in Kingston, NY have really blessed me this weekend with their kindness and support for wounded warriors.  This Warrior Weekend Program is such a great program for wounded warriors and I hope that this generation of soldiers can pay it forward to other soldiers.  Thanks for all that you do to support us. It makes our sacrifice more worthwhile."

SSG Teelia Gooden

"The welcoming party was awesome.  The people of Kingston were very friendly and the American Legion members made sure we did not have to go without anything we needed.  This is by far the best weekend getaway I have been on and I am definitely coming back.  Did I mention that the hotel staff and the first night's dinner buffet were great.  Thank you citizens of Kingston and the American Legion.  Jim Lafferty and Jim Gallagher, you were great."

SSG Melanie Taylor

"Thank you for everything you did to make sure our soldiers had a wonderful weekend.  I have never been treated so wonderful in all my years being in the Army.  I had a wonderful time."
1SG Carol Morris

"It was an honor and a privilege to be a guest on this trip.  I want to thank everyone."

SSG Eric Jordan

"The first day was outstanding!  The greeting at the train station was out of this world.  The next day we went to the mountains and saw Woodstock, NY.  I never thought I would see Woodstock in my lifetime.  The Hudson River cruise was outstanding.  The whole trip up and back is an experience I will never forget in my life.  Thanks to everyone that had a hand in the trip."

SPC Kerby Deitz

"Jim Lafferty and his partner, Jim Gallagher, were extremely welcoming and therapeutic throughout the trip.  They were so selfless in that they put our needs before theirs and made sure we were taken care of.  The town of Kingston and the people were a blessing and gave us a beautiful homecoming even though it was not our home.  It was such an inspiring experience to be so deeply appreciated for doing a job that is looked down upon because many people do not support the war.  I hope that this Warrior Weekend Program goes on for many years to come.  I will never for Mr. Lafferty or Mr. Gallagher for their kindness and dedication to serve us."
