The hotel was amazing, the restaurants were perfect and the itinerary was self-explainable. The boat ride was amazing and it was very relaxing. With this being my first time on a Warrior Weekend Trip, it was so refreshing to be able to enjoy myself along with fellow soldiers outside the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU). I wish it was a five-day weekend. I really enjoyed myself and am looking forward to attending more events. Thank you, Buddy and Tom. You guys were very competent and friendly. You answered any and all questions. I even signed up with the American Legion. I can’t express how much this weekend was needed; mentally, spiritually and emotionally, Thanks again" Name: SFC Master Sergeant Daniel Landsperger "My family and I were very impressed with the organization. The itinerary was perfect for making a general plan for the day plus plenty of time to explore and enjoy. Everyone involved was incredibly nice and the general atmosphere was great vibes. Everyone is just happy to be here supporting the soldiers in recovery. Thank you all for putting this weekend together for us." |

"My family and I really enjoyed the ease of the weekend. The hotel being centrally located on center city allowed easy access to restaurants and shopping. The scheduled activities really made the trip that much more enjoyable. For my family and I, the overall weekend was a success. We greatly appreciate the time, effort and thoughtfulness that the Warrior Weekend Organization and the many partnering business put into creating such a memorable experience for my family and I. Along with all of my many brothers and sisters in arms at the SRU (Soldier Recovery Unit) Detachment at /fort Belvoir we are truly grateful for this wonderful experience". My family and I feel indebted to this organization. The hotel arrangements were great, the food and restaurants were perfect for the whole family. "Thank you so very much for allowing my family to have such a wonderful and enjoyable weekend. Garth and Scott, Mike, Kelly ad Donna, you all were pleasant and hospitable hosts. I truly enjoy getting to know other families and the kids being able to enjoy the other kids. The aquarium was a wonderful outing for me and the children. NFL films is always an awesome tour to take. We ate good everyday with absolutely no complaints. I only want to share one issue. That would be the spelling of Philadelphia at the top of the paper. Other than that, this weekend was pure awesomness!! Thank you Warrior Weekend!!! |

"Hotel arrangements, breakfast at the hotel went great. For the scheduled activities, they should be done on the check in day and check out as a way to get to know the crowd. This would hel lessen the amount of cancellation to the reservations. Having a dinner on check-in date would be a great way to welcome the families. A lunch/breakfast on check out date could be great. See you soon/thank you. Overall, great time and greatly appreciated the effort and flexibility. Thank you for everything." Name: Staff Sergeant Junior Mercado, Dover, PA "Dear Warrior Weekend Program team. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible weekend my family and I had at Hershey Park, thanks to your generous program. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the park, discovering new areas like the zoo, which we were not previously aware of. The experience was truly exceptional and we deeply appreciate your time, dedication and unwavering support for veterans. Your efforts have made a significant impact on our family, and we are grateful for the opportunity to create such memorable moments together. Thank you again for everything you do. Your commitment to veterans is truly commendable and deeply valued. Warmest regards, Mercado Family." Name: SFC Robert Lesser, Johnstown, OH "The entire trip organization was spectacular. "My family and I had an exciting weekend that was nothing less than impressive. The availability of the meals was well appreciative as we were given the option to remain in the park or attend the dinner meals. I would recommend that option remain for future events. The communication between the WW staff and families proved valuable, resulting in a stress free weekend. Overall and on a personal note, the trip was well worth attending. I had th opportunity to bond with my family, meet new people and make new friends. I would certainly promote this program and advertise its success. Thank you!" Name: SFC Michael Perez, Long Island, NY "First and foremost, we would like to thank everyone who is a part of the Warrior Weekend team to Hershey Park. This was an amazing trip and experience that created lasting memories for our family. Hotel arrangements were perfect. We are a family of 6 so having a double bed and pullout couch was exactly what we needed. Breakfast at the hotel was great to grab and go before heading out to the park. Unfortunately, we didn't participate in the dinners because we were having so much fun in the park. The flexibility of allowing us to do our thing and not be restricted to an itinerary was ideal. I honestly wouldn't change anything to improve this weekend." |

Name: Staff Sergeant Frederick Haines, Stratford, NJ "Everything about this trip to Chincoteague Island was such a blessing to our family. The hotel we stayed in was comfortable and had great amenities to offer. Our kids loved the heated pool and my wife and I enjoyed the balcony outside our room overlooking the sound. We had no complaints about the dining experiences - everything was delicious. The boat tour around the island was a fund and informative way to explore the island and get to know come of the other guests. Buddy, Tom and Paul were great. They were so friendly and welcoming and made you feel like old friends. Our family really liked the mix of free time w/scheduled activities because it gave you a chance to engage with all the attendees, but also to spend time with your own family and to pursue your own interests. Our family is incredibly thankful for the opportunity to attend this weekend away and appreciate all of the time and attention that went in to planning it. Thanks for a great experience - we'll never forget it.!" Name: Sergeant Zachary Gundel, Fort Belvoir, VA "The group of gentlemen that ran this event did a wonderful job. This retreat was great and the best part were the other people I am here with. Everyone was professional and friendly. This trip was greatly appreciated." Name: Master Sergeant Rudy Flores, Ft. Belvoir "My family and I had a great experience with the Warrior Weekend Organization. The hotel arrangements were comfortable and the food at both hotel and restaurants was beyond expectation. The itinerary was well-planned, and having flexibility was appreciated. I think adding a few optional scheduled activities could enhance the experience, giving everyone more structure while still allowing for downtime. Overall, it was a beneficial retreat and I look forward to the opportunity for future events. Thank you to all of the sponsors for this event. You have all helped my family and I create life long memories." |

"The hotel staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast was and assortment of meats and eggs which hit the spot for the morning. The itinerary was clear and concise, filled with an amazing boat ride. Being out on the water was peaceful and very relaxing. The restaurant for dinner was awesome. I like the scheduled activities. It gives you time to socialize with everyone that attended the Warrior Weekend. One thing I would suggest is to have a list of sightseeing and or attractions of Chincoteague for the warriors when they arrive or send by email. My weekend was full of laugh and relaxation, some much needed time away from the barracks. Buddy, Tom and Paul were great hosts. I enjoyed hearing stories of Chincoteague from them. They all made you feel welcome!" Name: Major Jeannetta McKinney, Chicago, IL "Communications: In the weeks leading up to Warrior Weekend, Jim contacted me to confirm that I'd been selected. I received email following up with the itinerary. Jim & Buddy were 7 always professional, prompt and easy to talk to. Overall, excellent communication all around. Hotel: Clean, quiet, friendly staff, hot water & the team provided bottled water as well as the fruit infused water in the lobby. Overall, excellent hotel stay at a beautiful relaxing location. Restaurant: We attended dinner at Bill's Prime and really enjoyed the meal. The staff was prompt, Buddy had our table ready ahead of time, we could order anything we wanted & dessert! Itinerary: I have not relaxed this well in a long time. My life has been filled with treatments & surgeries and it felt so amazing to get away and rest. Although I only went to one dinner, I'm grateful that there were activities available. Overall, thank you for the no pressure weekend and envelope of money." |

"I would like to thank everyone that is/was involved. This was what I needed. My experience on the list is as follows: 1. Hotel - great - No complaints 2. Food - great - No complaints 3. Itinerary - great - No complaints I enjoyed the scheduled activities. Each place we visited was great. Once we visited Post 22, we got invited to another one, 5, to have more fun. In my opinion, I don't think there can be any improvements because everything was outstanding! God Bless America" Name: Staff Sergeant Frederick Haines, Stratford, NJ "Thank you Warrior Weekend for a beautiful and restful weekend away at Rehoboth Beach. This time away was wonderful for oth my wife and me. The hotel accommodations went far beyond our expectations - the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel was marvelous all around. We especially enjoyed the heated pool and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the dinner provided by the AMVETS Post #22 and were grateful for both their hospitality and generosity. Lunch at Zogg's was both fund and delicious. It was great to get to spend time with and get to know some of the other guests and the coordinator of this trip. We also had the privilege of visiting American Legion Post #5 (the friendliest post on the coast!) and participating in their Karaoke night. Overall, our weekend was so enjoyable and memorable and we are forever grateful for the opportunity to be included. Thank you for all you do!" |

" Hotel & hotel restaurant - excellent. Itinerary - excellent, really enjoyed time to ourselves for Northern lights & shooting starts. Gifts were very thoughtful & unexpected. Thank you so much! (to Warrior Weekend and AMVETS). We want the recipe for the pineapple casserole. Haha!! AMVETS were so wonderful! Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend! We really enjoyed ourselves (normally we wouldn't go to Rehoboth, but this hotel stay was fantastic and we're thinking of taking advantage of the winter special)." Name: Sergeant First Class Adrienne Toliver, Hagerstown, MD "This is my third time coming to the Warrior Weekend in Rehoboth Beach and each time I come, I am left always with a great attitude and full of appreciation. Meeting different people, volunteers and being able connect with my brothers from the SRU is a plus as well. Mr. Jim, Mr. Buddy and Ms. Karen are always a joy to be around. My days are almost up in the military and more and more each day I five myself grace. Warrior Weekend, thank you for adding to my day with a little more sunshine. Food, weather, music, ice cream, etc. were all great." Name: Master Sergeant Daniel Landsperger, Richmond, VA "Warrior Weekend is such a blessing!! Recovery is all about connections and this wonderful program not only helps us connect with our families, but also other soldiers in recovery. In addition, it helps us connect with other serve organizations that show us nothing but love & support. Thank you so much for a wonderful & restful weekend from the bottom of my heart. I cannot think of anything that did not go great. The entire weekend was a dream come true for me. The hotel and it amenities, including the restaurant, gave us the best relaxing weekend. The lunch and reception at Post 17 was great. We had an incredible time watching the Magic Show. The lunch at Post 28, Oh My God!! The Elvis concert!! made our weekend altogether special. We had a great time and made new friends. I cannot thank the Warrior Weekend enough. Your generosity and love allowed me and my colleagues to create memories that I will forever cherish." Name: Major Yan Liu, Ft. Belvoir "The hotel was very nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the flexibility in the schedule for doing activities. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed meeting people at the American Legion Posts and the shrimp at the VFW was a memorable treat." Name: Sergeant Alejandra Norris, Maryland "Hotel is great. Staff is very kind and helpful. For families with children perhaps to have a night where the children have an activity with someone else so then the soldier can have one night with spouse or fellow soldiers. I think the event was perfect. I give it 5 starts. Thank you for everything." |

"We felt the hotel arrangements were great. Great vacation: near shopping and beach. Staff was friendly and always willing to assist. We ate at the hotel for dinner twice. Both meals were yummy! We did enjoy the flexibility of the weekend with lots of free time. We would not prefer to have scheduled activities because there was plenty to do as it is. We really enjoyed the weekend. We felt spoiled. We would not change anything. We would suggest that if soldiers are coming and plan to fish that they get advanced notice to get a DE fishing license. We would like to thank the Warrior Weekend program, the American Legion, VFW, and mostly Buddy and Paul for the wonderful weekend and warm welcome." Name: Master Sgt. Elana Bertrand (retired), Boston, MA "We are so grateful for the time we are able to spend with each other. The times we spend with our Warrior Weekend family are forever sketched in our minds. You guys were there for our family when we were battling the hardest times of our lives. I think the hotel, weekend and events were perfect. If we were to make any changes, maybe the lunch on Friday could become a dinner. Again, thank you all for another amazing trip!" |
